Ska Theme Songs

Today, we won’t be focusing on just one artist’s or band’s work, but instead on the genre of Ska. Ska originated in Jamaica in the 1950s, predating reggae and rocksteady. Storm, a London native, is a New Age Renaissance Artist based out of Orlando, Florida. Dr. Dog is a psychedelic rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each member of the band has a nickname, as do the friends of the band. Their version of pop-rock is reminiscent of the 1960s, a time period they draw a lot of their inspiration from. You can catch them tonight at Higher Ground in Burlington, VT. Sleigh Bells is composed of an American duo based out of Brooklyn, New York. They formed in 2008 and released their debut album, Treats, in May of 2010 and featured an eclectic mix of their work. Their blend of noise pop is great for those times when you just feel like you want to rage or even when you just need to something to drown out those crazy thoughts.
